Mike Swanson cross training on the paraglider
Mike had never flown a paraglider. He showed up yesterday morning, did four quick flights, then soared for an hour last night. Today we took him out to the desert and towed him up a few thousand feet. He did great! Now all the Air Force know how to fly paragliders. Except Shane. He isn’t [...]
Texas Paramotor Tandems
While in Texas chasing records, Othar and I took some time to do some tandem paramotor flights with an all-star cast of Texas Red Bull team. The video speaks for itself - they had a blast! The awesome thing about these flights is that we can offer them to friends of Red Bull, VIP’s etc. anywhere, anytime. The only thing the video doesn’t capture is the heat and humidity. What a total blast. Thank you Texas! Huge thanks to the team at parafreedom.com ( the paragliding outfitter in the Houston area ) Bud and Sonny helped make sure that we had just what we needed, when we needed it, from motors to parts and local beta.
Incredible footage lately, nice work… Here’s a couple quick shots. Keep on huckin.
So many awesome videos and pics lately from Air Force BASE jumpers and sky divers. Wow. Hard act to follow.
Oh well, here’s a quick pic from my back yard where this morning we had a pretty good time aiming at the dirt.

And a quick one from two nights ago when the North Side was “on.” Got to try out a new glider specially made for tricks… The Rolling.
Jarret Rocks the Point of the Mountain, UT
Once in a while something really cool happens that you just have to tell everyone about. Well, a few days ago a good friend of the Red Bull Air Force came around and asked for a hand. See, Jarret rides a wheel chair. He has over 3000 sky dives and is excellent at handling parachutes but he wanted to fly some paragliders here in UT. We started by letting him play with some speed flying canopies while sitting on the ground. Then, while sitting in his chair. Then, we let him fly off our 300 foot hill. He managed to cruise around for twenty minutes and then landed in the exact spot where he took off. This evening; repeat performance. The kid is awesome and it was really fun to watch him get some airtime under a paraglider.
